Precautions and safety precautions when operating a glass tempering furnace

Operating a glass tempering furnace is a high-risk job. Before starting the furnace, ensure that the operator has received professional training and is familiar with the structure, performance, and operating methods of the furnace. Secondly, a comprehensive inspection should be conducted on the glass tempering furnace to ensure that all equipment and control systems are in normal operation. Strict adherence to safety regulations and operating procedures is required to ensure the normal operation of equipment and the personal safety of operators. The following are the main precautions and safety precautions when operating a glass tempering furnace:

1. Preparation work:

[1] Wear protective equipment: Before operation, necessary personal protective equipment must be worn, such as safety shoes, safety glasses, protective gloves, protective clothing, etc., to prevent high temperatures, debris splashes, and other injuries to the body.

[2] Equipment inspection: Before operation, a comprehensive inspection of the glass tempering furnace and its ancillary equipment should be carried out to ensure that all equipment and control systems are operating normally and without any abnormal conditions.

[3] Environmental cleaning: Ensure that there are no debris around the glass tempering furnace, the work area is clean and orderly, and prevent accidental tripping or collision.

2. Strictly follow the operating procedures:

[ 1 ] The control computer of the glass tempering furnace must be operated by professional operators, and it is prohibited for non section personnel, new or external personnel to operate the computer or adjust process parameters without authorization.

[ 2 ] It is strictly prohibited to install various software, delete or modify internal files in the computer, and strictly follow the computer power on/off operation procedures.

[ 3 ] During work, operators are not allowed to leave their posts without authorization and do things unrelated to their job.

[ 4 ] Glass that has not been ground, has blown edges, or has quality issues that may cause the furnace to explode is not allowed to enter the furnace.

3. Pay attention to the operation status of the equipment:

During the operation of the tempering furnace, the operator needs to closely monitor multiple key points, including the surface quality of the incoming glass, the stability of glass transport, the temperature inside the furnace, temperature control, and energy consumption and efficiency. The monitoring of these states helps ensure the safety of the production process and product quality.

4. Handling of emergency situations:

The glass tempering furnace may encounter emergency situations during operation, such as sudden crashes, furnace explosions, and abnormal main transmission. The operator should take prompt measures, such as immediately shaking the glass out of the furnace to prevent damage due to high temperature, and notify maintenance personnel for inspection and repair. At the same time, in order to avoid these emergency situations, it is recommended to regularly maintain and upkeep the glass tempering furnace, and strictly follow the operating procedures for operation.

5. Regular maintenance and inspection:

[ 1 ] Regularly inspect the tempering furnace during production. When repairing the tempering furnace, low-voltage lighting equipment should be used. To ensure personal safety, the inspection of the fan must be carried out during shutdown.

[ 2 ] When mechanical or electrical failures occur, the furnace must be immediately shut down for inspection and timely repair. When this section cannot be resolved, the maintenance personnel should be notified immediately for handling.

6. Avoid illegal operations:

[ 1 ] During work, it is not allowed to chat or play around, and it is not allowed to go to work after drinking alcohol. Prohibit leaving the workplace while the equipment is running.

[ 2 ] Remember not to sit on the wire trough or lean against the electrical cabinet to rest. Never open the cabinet door and rest on it.

[ 3 ] It is prohibited to enter the lower pit of the air grille during production. Wear goggles and a safety helmet when entering for maintenance to prevent glass damage.

The finished and semi-finished products produced should be neatly stacked and not occupy the safe passage.

When operating a glass tempering furnace, it is necessary to strictly follow safety regulations and operating norms to ensure the normal operation of the tempering furnace and the personal safety of the operators. At the same time, operators should have a high level of safety awareness and emergency response capabilities to ensure that they can quickly take the correct measures in case of emergencies, safeguarding their own and others' safety.
